Escondido Rotary Club, 100 Acts of Good Campaign 2016 - 2017

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Rotary Foundation, Rotarians all over the globe are tweeting their acts of good. Rotary should be known by who we are and what we do. Escondido Rotary Club is joining the campaign and tracking our 100 acts of good. See Chris Montan to add YOUR act of kindness to our list.   1. I donate every month to The Rotary Foundation through Rotary Direct.
  2. I donated two boxes of household goods to Goodwill Industries.
  3. I baby-sit the toddler grandchild so the kids can have a well-deserved date night.
  4. I helped fill a District Committee with good people, by calling to ask them to serve.
  5. I asked a member of the community to join me at a Rotary Club meeting.
  6. I delivered individual toiletries for the San Pasqual Academy.
  7. I helped prepare, deliver, and serve dinner to a local homeless shelter.
  8. Volunteered to prepare dinner and feed Haven House folks.
  9. Driving Kim to Rotary.
  10. Volunteer usher for the CCAE
  11. Organizing the Adopt-A-Highway Program for Rotary
  12. Send my 92 yr old mother-in-law a post card every week--she loves getting the mail.
  13. Took sacks of cookies and snack food to the police and fire headquarters along with thank you cards.
  14. Donated items to St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop and the Assistance League North Inland County.
  15. Brought some items for personal care for San Pasqual Academy.
  16. Brings his out-of-town, elderly or ill neighbors' trash bins out, and back again
  17. Brings their newspapers to their doors from the end of the driveway,
  18. Removes flyers and notices from view for security when neighbor's are out of town.
  19. Volunteers for the United Fund and Blood Bank drives.
  20. Volunteers for Escondido Charitable Foundation
  21. Helps collect clothes for Navy families.
  22. Volunteer Leadership Coach for students at SDSU.
  23. A neighbor’s car was disabled with a dead battery and I was able to give them a jump start and put them on their way.
  24. I joined Rotary International Travel and Host Fellowship.
  25. Business clothing to Dress for Success .
  26. Closet clean out to SVDP.
  27. Assisted elderly lady who fell on a side walk.
  28. Helped sponsor special fishing trips for select kids.
  29. Joined the Rotary International Travel and Host Fellowship.
  30. Joined the PTA and PTO for schools to volunteer for needed assistance.
  31. Donated to help fund student transportation for school field trips.
  32. Helping a family in need watching their 7-year-old while they are without a home.
  33. Donated to Louisiana Flood Relief project.
  34. Donated school supplies to the San Pasqual Academy Shop Til You Drop project.
  35. Assisted stranded motorist to jump start their car that had a dead battery.
  36. Am gathering blankets and covers for donation to the Escondido Humane Society.
  37. Gave $ to a homeless veteran so he could buy lunch.
  38. Adopted two dogs with special needs.
  39. Prepared “Wills for Heroes” for police and firefighters.
  40. Supporting the Escondido Rotary project by participating in the Grape Day 5K.
  41. Picked up trash at Kit Carson Park along the walking trail.
  42. Volunteered with the North County Board of Realtors at the San Marcos Boys and Girls Club.
  43. Supported Hunger Is Us campaign at the local Albertson’s by donating.
  44. Supported Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund by donating when making a purchase.
  45. Participated in the Adopt a Highway trash pick-up team this month.
  46. Donated to the PETCo Foundation for rescue police and fire animals at the checkstand.
  47. Volunteered to work at the Club and District level on the Music Scholarship Committee to recognize talented young musicians.
  48. Volunteered to work the Halloween Window Painting Contest.
  49. Brought toiletries in from vacation for the San Pasqual Academy kids.
  50. Drove 63 miles in rush hour traffic on the I-15 and I-5 to carpool kids to school.
  51. Helped another traveler on our vacation so he could complete the tour.
  52. Participated with the Assistance League in their Operation School Bell, which provided school clothes to 150 local students.
  53. Baked apple crisp from scratch and took it outside to the fence contractors.
  54. Donated travel-sized toiletries for San Pasqual Academy students.
  55. Am saving up my blood for the Blood Drive.
  56. Participated in the all Escondido Rotary Club joint community blood drive.
  57. Volunteered for Halloween Contest window washing; business window clean-up day.
  58. Donated left-over candy at Citracado Dentistry for Operation Gratitude, where it will be sent to deployed US troops.
  59. Purchased magazine subscriptions from my local Girl Scout as a fund-raiser for her troop.
  60. Donated to Susan B. Komen Foundation in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
  61. Packed boxes for our club-sponsored ‘America Cares’ project.
  62. Provided electricity for a neighbor whose power was suddenly shut off by SDG&E.
  63. Signed up as a bell-ringer for the Salvation Army at Major Market on December 10th.
  64. Tutored at “A Step Beyond” for the Dance and Education program for at-risk students at CCAE.
  65. Picked up trash along Center City Hwy and Hwy 78 as a part of our ‘Adopt a Hwy’ project.
  66. Gave my 20% off Steinmart coupon to the woman in front of me in line.
  67. Donated to the San Diego Food Bank holiday project at my local Von’s.
  68. Picked up a sharp, rusty screw in the Rotary parking lot at CCPA.
  69. Volunteered at Escondido Elementary School teaching an art lesson to 40 2nd graders.
  70. Conducted trash pick-up and recycling at Kit Carson Park in the early morning hours.
  71. I tutor 1st and 3rd graders twice a week.
  72. I take a fellow Rotarian to club meetings.
  73. Gave away 25 pies from Marie Callendar’s for Thanksgiving.
  74. I supported Small Business Saturday by buying from local merchants.
  75. Donated holiday items to Goodwill Industries.
  76. Swept the street gutters clean in my neighborhood after the storm.
  77. Donated a fully-decorated Christmas tree to a residential Alzheimer’s care center.
  78. Donated toys to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.
  79. Bought gift cards for the San Pasqual Academy Giving tree Christmas gifts project.
  80. Donated pet food to Veterinary Specialty Hospital’s pet food drive.
  81. Signed up for the Salvation Army’s red kettle campaign as a bell-ringer.
  82. Participated in the Interfaith’s Haven House food preparation for the homeless.
  83. Will buy the first round of drinks at our club’s December 15 Happy Hour event.
  84. Tutored children at the Felicita Elementary School.
  85. Donated household goods and Christmas decorations to Goodwill Industries.
  86. Donated clothes to a veteran’s organization.
  87. Am gathering clothes for the veteran’s Stand Down community project in January.
  88. Donated to the Escondido Chamber of Commerce gift drive.
  89. Purchased gifts for the San Pasqual Academy’s Giving Tree project.
  90. Prepared and served food to the homeless at Haven House.
  91. Donated toys to the Escondido Police Department’s toy drive.
  92. Visited ill patients in the hospital over the holidays.
  93. Took a hot meal over to a neighbor who was under the weather.
  94. Anonymously gave gifts to a needy family we ‘adopted’ for the holidays.
  95. Donated a Christmas tree and decorations to Elizabeth Hospice for their use.
  96. Responded to five email requests for donations from worthy charitable organizations.
  97. Paid for the meal of the person behind me in line.
  98. Helped to judge the Parade of Lights festival at Oceanside Harbor.
  99. Donated my premium Holiday Bowl tickets to a needy family with three boys.
  100. Donated to the Escondido Police Department’s Secret Santa Fund for patrol officers to distribute $100 dollar bills to deserving members of the community.
