Escondido Rotarian Mark Umek presided over the program that featured 5 student contestants from Escondido High School, Escondido Charter High and Escondido Adventist Academy. Great talks on timely topics.
Finalist Ethan Mikel from Escondido Charter High School spoke about Prescription Drug Abuse.
Finalist Katelyn King from Escondido Adventist Academy spoke on A Life of Service.
Finalist Katrina Kellner from Escondido High School spoke on How Stereotypes Influence Living.
Second Place went to Keyelyn Lawson from Escondido Charter High School who spoke on Body Image and Eating Disorders.
First Place was Zoe Grant from Escondido Adventist Academy spoke on Being Kind and Selfless.
From the Escondido Rotary Club Foundation, each finalist received $50, second place $75, and first place $100. There are three more levels of competition with the finals at Club 33. Both Katrina Kellner and Zoe Grant will continue on to represent our Club.
