San Pasqual High School Robotics Team Update
Our Rotary club was just informed about the exciting results from the FRC World Championship Robotics Event in Houston Texas. The team ranked 12th of 67 teams in the qualifying matches (among the top competitors in the tournament of 400 teams). The SuperNURDS were the 1st pick of the 4th seed alliance captain to compete in the quarterfinals matches. They won all of their quarter finals matches, but were elinated in the semifinals by the alliance that eventually won 2nd place in the world.
This has been the best season so far for the SuperNURDS!! Here are the highlights from this year:
San Diego Regional:
- Woodie Flowers Finalist Award
- Entrepreneurship Award
Arizona West Regional:
- Regional Winners
- Quality Award
World Championships, Houston TX:
- Ranked 12th of 67 teams in qualifying matches
- Ranked 6th of 67 teams in overall performance
- Eliminated in semifinals by #2 World Champion alliance
They have 2 major off-season events coming up: Battle at the Border and Fall Classic. They won both of these events last year. They will also be showing their robot at the San Diego County Fair this year.
The team has put our $6,000 District Matching Grants to good use. According to team coach and founder, Yun Lutgen, without our funding none of this would have been possible.
