Haven House

Haven house is a place for those who are working to get back on their feet but still need a little assistance. This is a place where they stay for a short time 3-6 months while they try to secure a job, a residence, etc. I’ve met some wonderful people who have just had a tough time. One individual was a cook years ago, who slipped and fell and broke his back. Another person had a stroke about 10 years ago and is now just getting over the rehab to where he is looking for a job. Some have just lost their jobs, their homes and learning new skills to put a resume together to get back out there. I have a core of volunteers that assist me but am always looking for new volunteers. We meet at Interfaith at 4:45 pm and make dinner in the community center’s kitchen for the Haven House residents that range from 20-50 individuals. We then serve dinner around 6:00pm - 7:00pm. It’s a very rewarding experience, and most of the residents are very grateful for the time and effort we give. We usually serve the 1^st and 3^rd Wednesday of every month, but of course there are always exceptions. Would love to have your help!!!
